Robert Johnson, 1930/40's bluesman
2006
Acrylic and latex
24"x24"
Robert Johnson was a talented bluesman in the 1930's who died before his recordings were leased. He was in his 20's and his recordings were not rediscovered and appreciated until much later on in the century. In a search online for random photobooth pictures this one stood out to me. A year later an article in the San Francisco Chronicle was printed about Robert Johnson, complete with the photograph used for this painting. The newspaper clipping is taped to the back of this painting.
